Popsicle Sleeve

During the summer you hand a kid a frozen treat of any kind and they will gladly freeze their little hands to enjoy the cold but what do you do when it's not a hot summer day and they still want a frozen treat? I've seen all these cute little sleeves and covers that people make and sell online but I'm here to tell you there is a much faster and FREE way to protect little hands. Introducing . . . baby socks. Yup, that's it. Baby socks. Grab one of those random mismatched toddler socks you have all over your house and slide it over one end of a frozen gogurt or otter-pop and there will be no frozen hands. Also good for catching little drips. The best part is that you just take it off when done and toss it into the laundry. Simple!

Blog Overhaul

Been making a lot of little tweaks to the look \ function of this blog. Little changes like the sky header and bigger ones like the side bar
with quick pins for Pinterest nuts like myself!

I'd love to hear any comment or suggestions you have about my blog. Any thoughts on the look, feel, or functionality are completely welcome. Leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

Another One Bites The Dust AKA Binky Fix 2.0

It seems we just can't keep these binky friends alive and in one piece. Remember our last Binky Fix? Well yesterday Mini man's other WubbaNub lost it's binky too. So we had to take him to the hospital to get patched up. Although now that I think about it maybe we should have said he went to the tattoo parlor to get some bling!

Here's our brave little patient getting his bill punched.

Showing off his new bling and testing out a binky.

Looks pretty good on him!

crock pot Cheesy Veggie Soup

It has been below freezing here everyday, all day lately and in my book that makes it time for soup!
I've had this recipe pinned in my pinterest recipe board for awhile and decide now was the time to try it out and have some yummy soup. It was so yummy in fact that the only picture I got was before I added the cheese and even then it look scrumptious.

Cheesy Veggie Soup

2 Tablespoons butter

1/2 cup chopped onion

1 cup finely chopped carrots

3 celery stalks, finely chopped

1/2 Tablespoon minced garlic

4 cups chicken broth

2 large baking potatoes, peeled and chopped

1 Tablespoon flour

1/2 cup water

2/3 cup milk

2 cups chopped broccoli (fresh or frozen, either works)

2 heaping cups shredded cheddar cheese

Melt butter in a large pot. Add onions, carrots, and celery and saute over medium heat until tender. Add garlic, cook 1 or 2 additional minutes. Put the sauteed veggies into your crock pot along with chicken broth, potatoes, and broccoli. Set on LOW 6 to 8 hours. 20 minutes before you are ready to eat, mix flour with water, add to pot, allow soup to thicken slightly. Stir in milk and cheese, allow to melt, and serve.

Best served with warm rolls to dip in the soup and clean up your bowl when finished.
